SECRET AVENGERS #18 by Linsay @softlyspokenlas

I started reading Secret Avengers with the Jamie McKelvie issue and what I love about this book is that each issue is like a standalone excerpt from their case files. The character rotation keeps it fresh, a different artist on each issue likewise and enjoyable. This issue it is the turn of David Aja who is interpreting the mystical wisdom of the now legendary writer Warren Ellis.

STORMWATCH #1 by gillianhastie

Stormwatch is an excellent example of a Wildstorm import into the new DCU. The characters and concept are pretty original but go quite well with the existing DC cast, and I reckon incorporating the Martian Manhunter was a good move.  He fits in with the others in manner and mood, and he goes with the colour scheme. Bonus.

SECRET AVENGERS #16 by Linsay @softlyspokenlas

Recently I’ve begun to make  the foray into the world of Marvel Comics and I’m not quite sure why. Perhaps my paltry bank account thinks I’m not spending enough on comics? Perhaps my bedroom does indeed have room for more long-boxes? Nah! Its because the scales of ignorance have fallen from my eyes! Marvel do make some bloody great comic books!
