The previous issue of this fine comic book ended on a sweet cliffhanger, with Baldy about to get into a tussle with a recently hatched Thool. For those who don’t own an up to date copy of the ‘Fieldspotter’s Guide to Thools’, they are are horrid stinking purplish creatures which hatch from eggs. Issue #13’s cliffhanger was so great in fact that Team Skullkickers have decided to keep it hanging there and make us wait a while longer for resolution. Opting instead to lead us by the hand deep into the mythos of Skullkickers, by beginning to explore the origin of ‘Baldy’ and of course, his gun. Continue reading

Does Absence makes the heart grow fonder? In the case of Image’s ever excellent Skullkickers it most certainly does. My poor wee Scottish heart has been positively yearning for this quick witted axe bashing floppy. After an extended break for the creative team it’s back with a bang and even better than I remember. Can it be true? Is my ‘Number One For Fun’ comic back? Unless Mr Zubkavich & Previews are playing a cruel joke on me Skullkickers #13 will be out on April 4th and I cannot wait! I love SKULLKICKERS. I love it so much, every time I say it, read it, type it I want to smash someone’s face in with a bottle. In a good way. Its the perfect antidote to ‘Will the reboot be any good? Will Ted Kord no longer exist?’ yada yada yada. Well, at least it is for me. You buy it, you read it, you laugh at it.
