DC’s latest crossover event saw Justice League, Justice League of America and Justice League Dark crossover in the 6-issue arc Trinity War and with Geoff Johns at the helm it’s lead us into Forever Evil.

This month saw the 1st run of #13’s from DC’s Lanterns titles giving us the follow-on from Geoff Johns opening events in the Green Lantern annual (reviewed here).

After losing my way on some of the Lanterns titles – sticking to just the Red variety – I’ve clambered my way back in time to see Geoff Johns take us on another EPIC Lanterns event in the “Rise of the Third Army” a tale crossing each of the titles and starting firmly in the Green Lantern Annual.

Issue #1 of Aquaman was hysterical and the main reason I decided to pick up issue #2, so it’s a little disappointing that this one didn’t live up to the first issue – so what’s the problem?

The Green Lantern title started off as one of the “so-so” issues…..suffering somehow from not being “new” enough or not deviating from a long continuity the title had already built, prior to Flashpoint and the New 52 reboot. This left me approaching #2 with less excitement than any of my other choices of #2 reads…..

Ok, so we probably got carried away with ourselves last month when we got the first glimpse of the first DCNew52, Justice League. DC’s hype-machine had been running for month’s ahead of the launch, we’d just come out of a Flashpoint high and we were ready to explode at the anticipation of a new world and new costumes. 51 issues later and we are in a much better position to see what JL#1 was really like – i.e. note quite the best of the bunch. But what does #2 do to try and improve on this?
