Some of the recent publications at Image have really taken a dump in both DC and Marvel’s front garden. While many comic fans are furiously trying to get hold of ‘all 52’ or every ‘point one uncanny regenisis red team book’ they might miss some really brilliant comic books that will give more reading pleasure, more laughs and more ‘oohs and ahhs’ than any rehashed reboot. After that blood and guts ridden, pet-necromancing family affair of a debut issue, it’s so nice to see that Animal Man’s super-shit-hot team of writer Jeff LeMire, artist Travel Foreman and colourist Lovern Kindzierski have decided to give us a nice light fluffy pink issue #2. Oh no wait, those pink bits are crazy intestine tentacle insides….

I love SKULLKICKERS. I love it so much, every time I say it, read it, type it I want to smash someone’s face in with a bottle. In a good way. Its the perfect antidote to ‘Will the reboot be any good? Will Ted Kord no longer exist?’ yada yada yada. Well, at least it is for me. You buy it, you read it, you laugh at it.
