The folklore surrounding a true historical figure can be a touchy subject to tackle at times but with such an increased number of the Comics Anonymous pull-list featuring titles outside the likes of Marvel & DC the quality of those titles has become more evident over the last year in particular.
The last few months of 2012 saw Marvel wind up a whole host of their titles with an aim to launching their Marvel Now project. Some of the biggest characters they have were started again in what Marvel claimed wasn’t a reboot but a natural reshuffle of the creative teams they had.
OK – let me first start by saying this – Cyclops was right. I said it…what’s your problem?
It seems only fair that a Christmas feature on the site contains something to do with the holiday – so what better way to say “Happy Birthday Jesus” than to celebrate my favourite comic of the year!
There’s two reason why I would rather be at Morrisoncon right now than anywhere else. First because it was the best con ever and second, the Vegas heat beats the icicle inducing weather we have today in the UK!

Scientists have proven that the chances of Batman appearing on our Best of lists each year is the same as getting socks at Christmas. Yay for science….and Batman!
Marvel have been taking some pretty clear steps towards embracing the digital approach to comics and even though most old skool geeks like me still prefer the physical copy of a comic…..I’m being gradually convinced by some of their developments.
Dynamite Entertainment seem to have been able to get hold of some of the most recognized pulp & cult characters, from Green Hornet & The Phantom through to the likes of The Bionic Man but the news of Garth Ennis’ involvement in the title initially had me wondering how his style would work with one of my favourite characters.
There couldn’t have been a list of highlights for 2012 without mentioning the range of indie & small press releases that we’ve been able to get our hands on over the course of the year.
Spinning out of the success of The Avengers movie came a brand new on-going series from Marvel which saw Matt Fraction & David Aja team-up and give us an unexpected take on the Avenging archer.
