A mere two years since the first movie, we see the return of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker with the release of Amazing Spider-Man 2 and there were high hopes after some impressive early footage in the trailers……but then not every movie lives up to the trailer-hype. (SPOILERS)
I don’t think we could have a list of highlights that didn’t include Amazing Spider-Man and even though 2012 saw a fairly muted response to the latest movie, the comic has gone from strength to strength in the hands of Dan Slott.

Following a fairly reflective issue #698 (reviewed here) that contained a REAL surprise for most fans of the title, or at least those who managed to stay away from the spoilers, we saw Dan Slott set-up the last arc for the Amazing Spider-Man title. (SPOILERS AHEAD…..you’ve been warned :D)

Spider-fan, Spider-fan, watches whatever a Spider-fan can and grabbing the Independence Day release in 2012 is The Amazing Spider-Man – a reboot which brings the much loved Marvel character into the 21st century. Although, ten years after Sam Raimi brought the character to our cinemas and a mere five years after Spider-Man 3 brought his directing run to an end – did the big screen really need a new Spidey so soon??
