With Nottingham Comic Convention just a week away I thought I’d take a look at some of the small press that’ll be in attendance that I’d recommend folks keep an eye out for.

What could be better than an indie/small press release? How’s about a crossover between 2 indie/small press releases – where Jon Lock & Nich Angell join their creative forces AND creations together………….The Heavenly Chord does just that…..and I’M IN!

This weekend sees the Thought Bubble Festival close with its two-day comic book event – quite possibly one of the best Comic Con’s in the UK and definitely a favourite of the Comics Anonymous gang. We have a table this year in the Royal Armouries Hall Table 88 which you can swing by for some Comic chat/shenanigans…..minus G-Man this year (He’s crying himself to sleep on the run up to it).

As 2012 fills up the CA team diary with more Cons than Arkham Asylum, there’s also the added bonus of the TOP comic book contributors being highlighted in the numerous award ceremonies which take place at these. None more so than the long standing Eagle Awards (around since the mid-70’s) which are presented at this years MCM Expo London Comic Con in May. With the 1st round of nominations being open since the start of January through until the end of February, the CA team thought we’d try and highlight some key possibilities for your nominations…..

After picking up Nich Angell’s 7 String – Track 1 at Kapow this year I found myself going back to it a couple of times, and passing it around a few friends. Surely the mark of a good comic book? I reviewed Track 1 and bought Tracks 2 & 3 from Nich at Thought Bubble.
Would you like to read a comic thats a bit like what might happen if Final Fantasy had a one night stand with Scott Pilgrim after meeting in the Pez Dispenser aisle in Woolworths? Yes? Well you should read 7 String by Nich Angell then!
