I’ve already had my favourite comic of the year (Punk Rock Jesus) but this choice goes to my favourite Graphic Novel of the year – The Underwater Welder.

So it turns out that two of the best books of the DCNew52 relaunch are not actually proper DC books after all. With DC pinching more and more of if its imprint ideas, it goes to show that Vertigo is really where they should be focusing their attention – but I’ve already had my big Vertigo rant a few days ago, so let’s talk about the comics instead!
OK – let me first start by saying this – Cyclops was right. I said it…what’s your problem?
It seems only fair that a Christmas feature on the site contains something to do with the holiday – so what better way to say “Happy Birthday Jesus” than to celebrate my favourite comic of the year!
There’s two reason why I would rather be at Morrisoncon right now than anywhere else. First because it was the best con ever and second, the Vegas heat beats the icicle inducing weather we have today in the UK!

You know that an indie book/creator is doing things right when you need to get your hands on the latest issue just as much as your normal weekly comics. It happened with No More Heroes. Scientists have proven that the chances of Batman appearing on our Best of lists each year is the same as getting socks at Christmas. Yay for science….and Batman!
There’s three things that signal that the year is almost at an end – it’s dark in the mornings, the shops have Christmas decorations up and the Thought Bubble weekend. Our favourite wintry comic con that’s near the end of a long con season has come and gone – but not without a visit from comic fans, comic creators and Comics Anonymous!
Ever wanted to see the Comics Anon gang in action? Do you have a burning question to ask us? Would you like to buy us a drink? Or do you just want to stare at us blankly until we feel a little uncomfortable? Well this weekend you can do all of the above and more since Comic Anonymous will be setting up camp at this year’s Thought Bubble in Leeds!

What do comics, the desert and a rock’n’roll hotel have in common? Normally nothing at all, but for one special weekend at the end of September, the three merged together to form a very special comic convention – one we’ve never seen the likes of before and possibly may never again – and they called it Morrisoncon.
