Spider-Verse

While the build-up to this may have seemed to taken AGGGGEEESSSSS…..it feels like it’s all been worth the wait as the alternate universe-spanning event captures all incarnations of Spider-Man you could imagine….and more.

Partly down to the drive of Dan Slott…..a Spidey-Fan writing Spider-man as his run on The Amazing Spider-Man and generation of the Superior Spider-Man has already raised him up to the true heights that he deserves…..at least in my eyes.  Having met him at London Super Con and heard him talk about the Spidey/Parker character with the same passion I have seemed to just emphasize how significant his contribution has been to the character’s mythology already.

Spider-Verse itself is a quest for survival as every version of Spider-Man teams up through the magic of time-travel to face-off against a family of spidey-Hunters who are hell-bent on devouring their prey to continue they’re own survival.  An epic event that crosses titles, introduces new versions of a much loved character and brings back previous versions to give us one of the best events in a while.  Great art from Olivier Coipel just adds that extra dimension of scale to the title as he captures every Spidey version with real style.
