It’s been a stellar year for Dogooder Comics and their Dungeon Fun title saw them hit the all-ages comic group with the award-winning combo of Colin Bell & Neil Slorance.
Following the adventures of Fun Mudlifter as her boring life turns into one of swords, knights, trolls & witches in what soon became a standout release for this year. Smart, quirky writing from Colin captures the thrills, spills and laughs as Neil’s simple but immensely effective artwork completes the set as they keep us entertained across 3 issues of mayhem. Check out my reviews of issue #1, #2 & #3.
An all-ages book in the truest sense as there’s that subtle Pixar-level blend of fun and humour that adults will pick-up on and kids will love in equal measure. As cliched as it sounds, it’s a fun book which is the true reason comic books are a part of anyone’s reading……some more than others, but the comic book world is just as viable an outlet for entertainment & escapism as any other and when there’s a title that can cross the age demographic as easily as this does….then it’s a gem of a book. Something that was further emphasized in this year’s SICBA awards where Dungeon Fun had a clean sweep.
