A fairly recent read for me was volume one of Drown Town by Robbie Morrison & Jim Murray…..but it joins the highlights with ease.

A post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, noir tale set in a semi-submerged London……key elements from any number of similar stories but the sharp script and glorious artwork sets this apart.  Joe Noiret is our central character – part detective, part slob but working his case and riding his luck in the only way he knows how.  A supporting cast of talking pandas, talking rats and general mutated misfits are guided through this first volume with a sharp script and some truly stunning artwork.  I’m just hoping that with the build-up and final reveal of this first volume that the second volume is on its way soon.
