Trillium #1 and 2

Jeff Lemire is a fairly new writer/artist to me but after loving some of his previous work I jumped at pre-ordering this latest release from Vertigo.

A sci-fi/war-time/time-travelling epic kicked off with an ingenious flip-book in issue #1 that introduced our 2 main characters, a futuristic scientist (Nika) and a soldier (Billy).  War flashbacks and alien encounters inter-mingle with each other as both their paths cross at a mysterious temple.  A creator-owned project with real style and Lemire seems to be pouring his best out onto the pages.  Quirky, relatable characters and vast world captured with an air of discovery.  A great read and stunning to look at although I’m sure some people will have a problem with Lemire’s art style…….I just get lost in it.
