Ever wanted to see the Comics Anon gang in action? Do you have a burning question to ask us? Would you like to buy us a drink? Or do you just want to stare at us blankly until we feel a little uncomfortable? Well this weekend you can do all of the above and more since Comic Anonymous will be setting up camp at this year’s Thought Bubble in Leeds!
With most UK comic conventions two things are usually true: 1) Comics Anonymous are there, but 2) you’ll never see them in the same spot for very long. On a normal con weekend we’re akin to The Flash, darting between panels, signings, interviews and the pub. But not this weekend! Instead you’ll find us in one place – the pub the Armouries Hall at Table 88.
We’ll gladly deface any of your comics with our names if you so please, however we’ll also be there to chat to you and the convention guests in-between our charity Sketch-offs! That’s right – ever fancied a sketch of Mr T doing the moonwalk or Ted Kord singing the blues? (see what I did there!?) Then purchase a raffle ticket or two to enter your sketch suggestions, and then watch as our artist guests go head to head in an all our battle of the ink.
Expect to see some of the following duelling it out on the page:
Al Davison, Andy Belanger, Dan Harris, Darryl Cunningham, Dave Taylor, Gary Erskine, Garry McLauchlin, Gibson Quarter, Gill Hatcher, Graeme Kennedy, Jock, Karrie Fransman, Kate Beaton, Lee Robson, Leigh Gallagher, Nich Angell, Peter Doherty, Richard Jordan, Guillermo Ortego and Yannick paquette
Come by during the weekend to find out when your favourite artist will be taking part in our Sketch-offs.
And while you’re there – make sure and check out some of the amazing indie talent on show this year – check out Gary’s spotlight on some of our favourites here.
Can’t make it along this weekend? Fear not, we’ll have all of the action posted via our Facebook and Twitter as it happens, with plenty of the coverage on the site over the coming weeks.
