It’s only 3 days to Christmas, which means we’re down to our last 3 highlights of the year. It’s Gary’s turn today, so what better way to finish up with a publisher whose produced several of our favourite comics this year.
I’d lost my way with Image titles for a while… I’d had a strong interest in Spawn and its spin-off Sam & Twitch, which kind of faded away and then I was mainly into Marvel titles – until recently. Some key issues have already been reviewed by the Comics Anon team – Severed, Pigs, The Vault, The Strange Talent of Luther Strode and Heart to name but a few….but they represent a broad spectrum of ideas, writers, artists and ultimately the type of talent that Image are able to deliver time and again. This is a strength that Image always seems to have been able to harness… it just seems more evident to me in 2011. And with 2012 just around the corner, I’ll be checking the Image Comics section of Previews and their website ahead of my usual pre-orders to make sure I’m not missing out on any other gems they’re producing.
