I love SKULLKICKERS. I love it so much, every time I say it, read it, type it I want to smash someone’s face in with a bottle. In a good way. Its the perfect antidote to ‘Will the reboot be any good? Will Ted Kord no longer exist?’ yada yada yada. Well, at least it is for me. You buy it, you read it, you laugh at it.

Cerebus Without the Monologues

Issue 10 is the fast paced penultimate episode of ‘Five Funerals & a Bucket of Blood’ that benefits from panel after panel of high definition action and colours so gorgeous you’ll want to wash in this bucket of blood – even if you don’t listen to Cradle of Filth on a regular basis. Those sickly sweet faery types are up to some bloody mischief and our adventuring heroes, big tall baldy and the wee ginger Hagar (not their real names) find themselves injured (With the best injury/ treatment scene I’ve EVER seen) and pursued by mob after mob of Urbia’s militia and citizens.

The issue ends with nothing but promise for no 11. Think Little Shop of Horrors crossed with Evil Dead.

And if you think the team behind Skullkickers think they’ve done their best by giving you a great comic – they also provide you with some great fan art, a word search and a maze. Previous issues have also included recipes and dress-up Skullkickers paper dolls.

They do spoil me with this. The only criticism I have of this issue is that some of the panels do feel a little crowded but to be honest I just bloody love it.

Skullkickers is out on Image and you can find out more about it here
