Freshly returned from a weekend at Kapow! 2012 in London and, well, not feeling so fresh. Here’s a run down of this week’s picks then I’m off to bed.
New releases
Millarworld’s releasing volume 2 issue #1 with Death Sentence by Montynero. Comics Anonymous’ very own G-Man had an advanced preview of this comic donkeys ago. Go check it out!
Now onto the big two. From DC we have the gorgeous The Flash, Jeff Lemire on JL Dark and a Night of the Owls tie-in for All Star Western, among others (all #9). DC’s Vertigo’s offering The Unwritten #37, a jumping on point for new readers. Releases of note from Marvel this week are Captain America #12, cos Cap’s da bomb; Astonishing X-Men #50, which boasts the most talked about moment of the year; a storyline/twist/reveal in Deadpool #55.
It’s the start of a new chapter for Dark Horse’s Orchid, #7, by Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and with free musical score once again. (Linsay’s review of issue #1 will tell you what to expect.) It’s all secrets and disguises for two issue #1s from this publisher with an Alien hiding in plain sight in Resident Alien and a top secret Mind Management program in MIND MGMT. Might be worth a shot. Over at Image, Saga #1 is on it’s fourth printing. A bunch of readers must share Craig’s view then, eh?
IDW has a new True Blood ongoing series starting at issue #1 this week. I wasn’t keen on the limited series’ out previously, but this might give some TB fans a fix until the show, which is as addictive as ‘V’ itself, returns this summer.

Last week’s stack
I have no idea. How am I still awake? Was Saga last week or the week before?…
Where we’re at
Kapow! was awesome. We’ll have panel overviews up this week. Which means the gang’s glued to PCs (or MACs, we’re diverse) typing so fast there’s a smokey haze.
‘Night.
