Calling all Brighton based comic fans – this one’s for you!
Fan of the blog, Joseph Stannard has got in touch with us to tell us about his next “Outer Church” event he’s putting on Feb. He’ll be screening a double bill of Patrick Meaney’s documentaries Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods and Warren Ellis: Captured Ghosts over at Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar from 7:30pm – 2:00am on the 17th Feb. Not only that, but there will be live music too, provided by Old Apparatus, Pye Corner Audio and Kemper Norton!
Joe explains the thinking behind his monthly events as
My attempt at bringing together various weird and magical strands of culture with an emphasis on films and music – and a heavy influence from comics. Obviously, the name of the event is derived from Morrison’s The Invisibles which is a big inspiration for me in general.
Unfortunately it’s a little out of the way for us Glasgow-based Comics Anon-ers, however those closer to Brighton should give it a shot and send us your thoughts so we can convince Joseph to hold a comics event up here.
Tickets are £5 and available from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/152811.
